Backyard Composting: How to build a compost heap.

This workshop is for you if you have some backyard space and want to learn how to turn your food scraps, grass clippings, fallen leaves, and other organic matter into rich organic fertilizer.

This workshop will be lead by UC Davis’ very own waste diversion experts: Project Compost.

You will leave this workshop with a strong understanding of how to build and maintain a compost pile and also learn how to use the finished compost in our organic gardens, houseplants, or trees.

If you love compost or you are even more interested in the worm composting, Project compost will have a “Worm Composting: Compost Indoors/Outdoors, Anywhere with a Worm Bin!” workshop on the Saturday after the Festival on Saturday, 5/17 from 1pm to 3pm at the Tri-Co-Ops on campus.
