Quad Stage
DJ Pit Come to this stage behind and below Wellman Hall to hear a wide range of beats mixed, blended and remixed Live by various DJ's. Fed by a massive soundsystem, the dancefloor at this stage will ignite into an energetic frenzy when the sun goes down, accompanied by Firedancers and a Live Painting & Art Display. You won't want to miss any of it.
Soular Dance Stage Art Space Located on the Southwest Lawn and at the festival’s various stages, come experience Whole Earth Festival’s exhibition of large sculpture, performance, and design! Art/Science Fusion Walk with Donna Billick - 2 pm Tour, Sat & Sun – Learn about the UC Davis Art Science Fusion Program and their projects with K-12 schools. Meet at Art Space for tour. The Weaving of the Labyrinth - 5pm to sunset, Sunday until 5pm Traverse the Labyrinth and explore its age-old reasons for use. Help it grow by weaving cloth and your prayers, wishes, dreams, or aspirations into its skeletal frame. Recycled as You Like It - 12 pm to Sunset, Sat & Sun Only Recycled Shakespeare? Only in Davis! Constructed out of all- recycled materials and set in an Elizabethan version of Davis, CA, As You Like It is a locally-grown, “re-mix” of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy. Come enjoy the fun as love attempts to conquer all! Find these theatre characters in their recycled costumes and set pieces throughout the festival, giving short performances and talking about their upcoming show at the Davis Art Center. For Memorial Weekend performance informa- tion, please go to www.acmetheatre.net Live Painters - 1 pm to 10 pm Fri & Sat, 5pm Sun Ongoing performances by master visual artists, creating music- and-crowd inspired paintings with multiple mediums, working daily next to our various stages (prints/art by artists available through artists – more information on live artists at Art Space) Hands On Crafts Come to Hands on Crafts to learn some easy projects you can do with natural and reused materials. Activities are open to crafters of all skill levels, even if you think you can’t draw a straight line to save your soul. We’ll be crafting it up all weekend long in the Heart of the Festival, so come check it out! Friday: Kids Space/ Kids Dome Witness the fun! Witness the love! Witness the magic of the Whole Earth Festival's KidSpace! This area, located on Wellman Lawn in front of Soular Dance Stage, welcomes children of all ages, as well as anyone with a playful spirit! Please be aware that Kids Space is not a babysitting service; rather, children and their parents are encouraged to come and enjoy the activities together! Keep an eye out for the storytelling Tipi!
Experiential Space Parades & Drum Circles Everyone loves a parade! There will be parades scheduled throughout the weekend. Come join us! There is also a drum circle on the West Quad consistently beating throughout the weekend. Tune your ears to the sounds of the WEF drums! Promethean Stage When the sun sets over WEF, watch as the Soular Stage transforms into the hot and fiery Promethean Stage! An exciting line up of talented fire performers from near and far will delight the crowds with their pyrotehcnic feats Friday and Saturday night 8-10pm. Come have your most primitive human instincts dazzled and amazed! On Friday come out to see Fire University, Obsidian Butterfly, Controlled Burn, Flux and Kinetica light up the night. On Saturday, watch Fire University, Temple of Poi, Solar Flare, Pyrotion, Poki & Vulcan. |
