There is something to be learned from a handmade craft, and its crafter. There is a story behind each individual piece, tracing back through the crafter’s inspiration, skill, motivation, selection of materials, and where these materials have come from.

The vendors selected for the Whole Earth Festival are chosen not only for the originality and the beauty of their art, but for their sustainable practices as well as the consciousness and daily action in minimizing their ecological footprint ~ their effect on the health of our planet, our Web.

By supporting local and small craft businesses, we as consumers are also minimizing our footprint. Buying directly from an artist cuts down on a lot of packaging and shipping.  In addition, being able to meet the person who made your sweet new pants or new funky sculpture made out of recycled machine parts is intimately wonderful.  You may also be helping preserve a cultural craft that has been practiced for hundreds of years.

Our possessions and creations should be respected and well cared for, as they are gifts from the Earth and will only go back to the Earth. We hope you enjoy the many different vendors, and learn something new from the art of craft.
